Sustainable Islands

In our current society, the transition to a sustainable society is an important theme. In the completed documentary 'Sustainable Islands', the makers look how sustainability is taking shape and follow innovative combination projects in the Southwest Delta and on the Wadden. Many islands in the Netherlands present themselves as testing grounds and showcases for sustainable projects. The fresh and salt water on and around the islands, the rising sea level and the challenges surrounding the Delta Works play an important role in the documentary.

The title Sustainable Islands is also a metaphor, more communication and collaboration is desperately needed. Get off your island and join! Together we can do it, working on sustainable circular cooperation for the future of new generations. Sustainable Islands wants to involve these new generations of children, young people and adults in sustainable changes. We will do this by publicizing what is going on and developing interactive education packages around living labs and frontrunners. We would like to work with various parties.

The project

We want to form a platform with the Sustainable Islands project and encourage more cooperation between all parties specially those involved in the Southwest Delta and on the Wadden Sea. Showing the living lab projects with testing projects in the Netherlands. Our team of creatives has a lot of knowledge and we work with interdisciplinair art projects. With that knowledge and creativity we develop educational packages and with film and media material we inform what's going on in the Delta with the diverse islands and we develop educational packages. We are working at new film material that we are shooting for a series of documentary's, five episodes. Our project is about the changes towards a sustainable

society with frontrunners who are working hard at sustainable projects. The focus is on Dutch living labs, but we also make trips abroad for the film material . The consequences of global warming and sea level rise are enormous for the Netherlands, but it mainly has a major effect on the Southwest Delta and the Wadden. A lot needs to change in Delta areas worldwide. In our new series of Sustainable testing grounds, we bring out what is going on and we work on awareness with the help of education and showing how the work towards a sustainable society is done, it's now or never!

Documentary

A journey across the Dutch waters along the islands. A search for frontrunners who are committed to a change towards a sustainable society and a look behind the scenes of innovative projects on and around the Dutch Islands.

Educatieproject

Platform for organisations, schools and government. With teaching material and information about sustainable living labs and frontrunners on the Dutch islands of the Wadden Sea and the Southwest Delta.

TV Series

A series of documentary episodes with various episodes about sustainable topics and involved artists around sustainable islands and living lab projects in the Netherlands.
